Education | Second Age Project

The Second Age Project takes its name from Jacques famous “all the world’s a stage” monologue from Shakespeare’s As You Like It

In 2020, The Second Age Project offers extra-curricular acting training, rehearsal and performance opportunities:

TERM 1 / 2 / 3: Acting Training Exciting, fun and challenging acting training for high school students- three hours each weekend during the NSW public school term dates. Students work with professional directors on monologues and scene-work culminating in a performance at the end of the term for friends and family.

Cost: $200 per term (including GST)

The Second Age Term 2 classes are now running online via Zoom, however we will be moving to in-person classes once it is safe to do so.

Applications for our Term 2 Classes have now closed, but sign up to our mailing list for updates on Term 3 Applications!

TERM 4: Summer Season  In 2020, the Second Age project will return for its 8th performance season! Young Actors can audition and take part in rehearsals and performance of a thrilling one hour play drawing from Shakespeare’s greatest texts.

Rehearsals take place on weekends throughout Term 4, culminating in a performance that plays as a curtain-raiser to SFJ’s mainstage shows for the annual Summer season.

The Second Age Project draws its title from the famous speech in Shakespeare's play As You Like It, beginning:

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women, merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances,

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages..."

The  Second Age is the school child with 'shining morning face'.
